Terahertz waves allow contact-free measurement of layer thicknesses and material properties in an industrial environment. With the development of compact, robust and powerful systems, it is now successfully finding its way into sectors such as the automotive and pharmaceutical industries, but also into art historical restoration. Examples from various fields of application demonstrate the advantages of this approach to quality assurance.
