Menlo Systems cofounder and inventor of the optical frequency comb Theodor W. Hänsch celebrated his 80^th birthday on October 30. The Menlo shareholders and the entire Menlo team are sending their greetings in the form of a frequency comb cake, brought to Ted in person by Michael Mei and Ronald Holzwarth. Being professor for life, we wish Ted Hänsch many more exciting discoveries in the field of quantum optics and quantum physics. We are looking forward to see new applications for the optical frequency comb, which change our world for the better.
